Beau Bonanza 2012 Hall of Fame Inductee

Beau Bonanza was bred by Bill G. Moomey in 1969 in Waukesha, Wisconsin. He was sired by WQHA Hall of Fame Stallion Coy's Bonanza, who needs no introduction, and was out of Dawson Beauty by George Paul.

Pete Locher of Grafton, Wisconsin, acquired "Beau" in 1971 and put him in the capable hands of Bill Edmundson. The whole nation was aware of this great horse's record and the publicity he received reflected well on our state and on the Bonanza tradition.

He became the High Point Halter Stallion in 1971. In 1972 he earned the coveted title of AQHA Champion with a Superior rating in halter and performance points earned in reining and western pleasure. He came close to earning a Superior award in western pleasure.

Beau was a very popular stallion and was entered consistently in the Wisconsin Quarter Horse Association Stallion Service Auction. In spite of being moved to John O'Brien's "Irish Acres" in Kearney, Nebraska, many Wisconsinites continued to breed to him and the resulting get were shown in many of our futurities, both halter and performance.

Beau had an incredible sire record with dozens and dozens of AQHA award winners. He is a welcome addition to the WQHA Hall of Fame.
